Malaga to New York

United Airlines has released tickets for new direct flights between Malaga and New York.

From the first week of June , when the route from the Costa Del Sol to New York is launched, average prices are around €560 for a return trip and will operate three times a week, throughout the summer until the end of September.

United will be operating in five Spanish cities this year, which is more than any other American airline and will be the only one working with Malaga, Tenerife and Palma de Mallorca.

The travel industry in America is particularly excited about the Picasso Year 2023 in Malaga, Celebración Picasso 1973-2023.

Pablo Picasso

The death of Pablo Picasso in 1973 , who was born in Malaga, actually marked the beginning of a return to his roots. It started with the opening of the Casa Natal, the house in the Plaza de la Merced , where he was born, as a museum, and that also created the now world famous Malaga Picasso Museum, which receives more visitors than any other.

Both these museums will play a vital role this year in an international event , to mark 50 years since his death. It has achieved something extraordinary  in the art world, by bringing together the governments of Spain and France to organise 50 exhibitions in Europe and the USA.

A city which had only really been known as a tourist destination , has gradually become a capital of culture in its own right. Picasso loved Malaga and often included elements of the city in his paintings. Malaga loves Picasso too and anybody who visits this year, will find it a very special place to be.
